On Tuesday night, Rylee was running around and stepped on her sippy cup which rolled out from under her and she fell down and started crying really hard! That in and of itself told us that she was at least a little hurt; that girl runs around and faceplants ALL THE TIME and then just bounces right back up and keeps going, so if she's crying then it means she's really hurt something. I was upstairs when it happened, but Quinn said that he looked over and she was trying to stand up and couldn't. After several minutes of her crying, we decided that we should take her to the ER to get checked out. To add to the commotion, a few minutes after she fell down, my cousin Megan and her husband Dave arrived a couple minutes after the fall to drop their girls off; Katie and McKenna came to spend the night with us because Megan was scheduled to be induced early Wednesday morning (she had another beautiful girl, Brooklyn Dawn, on Wednesday evening!) Anyway, I stayed home with Cailyn, Katie and McKenna while Quinn took Rylee to the hospital. They took X-Rays and found that nothing was broken, so they sent her home saying that she had probably bruised her hip really badly. She slept well that night, but in the morning still wouldn't stand up and every time we moved her she cried. She spent the day laying around, watching TV, and sleeping - she even fell asleep without being in her crib, which NEVER happens! Rylee spent so much time laying down that she got a pretty impressive brillow pad (I don't know whether that's common terminology for this type of hair-do, but that's what my mom called them when I was little!)
Katie and McKenna were at our house all day, which was nice because Rylee loves playing with them, but also sad because she wasn't really able to play with them like she normally does. The girls spent a lot of time watching TV. Katie held Cailyn whenever possible, too.
At some point in the afternoon, Rylee started saying "Rylee's Room!" The other girls had been playing up there quite a bit, and Rylee wanted to play too, so I carried her up and sat her on the floor and she played with whatever she could reach.
Then a little later, Katie and McKenna decided to go play outside. Rylee wanted to go too, so I sat with her on the stairs outside the back door and she watched the other girls play. McKenna was eating some of the snow that was in the shadows, which Rylee LOVES to do. Katie was very sweet and went over and brought some snow to Rylee, and she ate it very happily. After a little while, Rylee got tired of sitting on the stairs, so I moved her to her bike. She wasn't really able to move around, but at least she felt like she was playing!

The next day (yesterday) I took Rylee to the Chiropractor because I thought her knee or hip might be out of place. After checking her out, he said that her knee and hip are fine, but thinks that her foot is sprained, so he wrapped it up. We're going to take her back on Monday to check it out again and see if we need to get her foot X-Rayed. Rylee cried the entire time the chiropractor was checking her out, so afterwards I took her to get ice cream. When we got home, she zonked out on the couch.
She spent most of the day watching TV and reading books again.
And through the whole ordeal, Cailyn has been very sweet and happy, which is a blessing!
She loves to blow bubbles, and I think she will be rolling from her tummy to her back in the not too distant future.
Rylee still won't stand up and keeps saying "Owie Foot," but she does seem to be in less pain every day. She has been wearing things without pants as much as possible since she doesn't like to put her leg through things, so she has been wearing her Cinderella jammies a lot. She discovered this afternoon that she can see through the sheer layer and thought it was pretty funny!

I can't lie, having Rylee immobilized has made my life much easier in a lot of ways! I've been able to work on projects that I've been meaning to do for a while, including getting Cailyn's Birth Announcements ready to mail out (thanks to Lindsey for making them so cute for me!) So I've kind of enjoyed the slower pace around the house, but I also do want sweet Rylee's foot to get better as soon as possible!
