Sparkly

Rylee was spraying the sliding glass door with a water bottle and wiping it with a towel...Quinn walked up...
Rylee: Hey Dad, the whole world is messy!
Dad: Are you going to clean it up?
Rylee: Yes! And the whole world will be sparkly! And everybody will be happy when the world is sparkly!

Words of Encouragement

I have been getting lots of pep talks from Rylee lately, similar to this one that just happened about 30 seconds ago...
Me: Ouch!
Rylee: What, mom?
Me: Oh, I just bonked my ankel.
Rylee: You did? Oh no! How?
Me: On the dishwasher.
Rylee: Don't give up mom! You just have to keeeeep trying!

What would I do without her?

This is the LIFE!!!

Today the girls and I packed a picnic and walked to the park. As I was unpacking the food, Rylee said to me "Mom, this is the life!" She chattered on about "the life" long enough that I finally pulled out my camera and filmed part of it (see the video at the bottom...)
Anyway, I decided she was right; the simple things in OUR life make it THE life, and some of my favorite parts of "the life" are...
Picnics at the park (of course!)
...stuffing our faces full of good food...

...climbing on the playground...

...playing and imagining...
...exploring our creative sides...
...going to the beach...

...making new friends...

...smiling (even when things don't stay in place as they should!)...
...making sand angels...
...getting covered in sand from head to toe...
...feeding goats...

...knocking yourself out after a long day of playing hard (with a piece of caramel corn that never quite made it all the way to the mouth!)...
...eating marshmallows with one shoe on and watercolors all over your face and clothes...
...stuffing our faces...some more...
...getting clean...with dolls to love, of course!...
...having mermaids to hug...

Pretty much anything we do with these two girls makes our life a good one!

Through the Cracks

Here are some of my favorite recent pictures that have slipped through the cracks and not yet been posted on this little blog of mine...

(Cailyn LOVES finding belly buttons!)
At this party, Rylee came up to me and said "Mom, I want to hit the ni-nah-na." The WHAT? It took me a while to realize that this is what she was talking about...

This little girl was just as outgoing as Rylee, and they hit it right off!
Following in her grandpa's footsteps...
