A Day at the Fair

The Santa Barbara County Fair is in town, so that's where we spent our day today.
The girls were very intrigued by the various displays, until we found the rides! This is Rylee and I on the little kiddie roller coaster.
Of course, the merry go round is always a hit! (Notice Rylee petting her horse.)Rylee just rode and rode and rode the rides
Cailyn got to go on a few,
but spent most of her time watching from the sidelines.
So we walked around looking for things to keep her busy and she loved these little turtles!
Then it was on to the animals. There were turkeys, goats, cows, pigs, horses...and maybe something else? Cailyn called all of them "cute" and made the appropriate noises when she saw them.
She really liked these baby goats!
The pigs scared her at first, but she warmed up to them.
These piglets were 6 days old! Cailyn called them "puppies." Actually, they did look pretty similar to puppies (:
Then it was off to the ferris wheel - Rylee has wanted to go on a ferris wheel for months now!
We walked by a face painting booth and amongst all of the flowers, butterflies, and other girly samples on the poster, Rylee zoned in on the pirate picture! (She LOVES playing pirates with Quinn...they even have matching nerf swords that they play with!) So the artist gave her a pretty girl pirate.
Cailyn thought face painting was fun, too!
This is my favorite picture of the day - face painted, mouth full of hot dog (her favorite!), and all around happy!
Then it was back for a few more rides before we headed home.
And this is the pink guitar that Rylee fell in love with as soon as she spotted it at a booth in the distance...she played with it all afternoon and then took it to bed with her.
